Funktionen

After having established a core Grid infrastructure in Germany, the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) invested in 2006 and 2007 in generally accessible D-Grid resources. The goal of the D-Grid Integration Project 2 (DGI-2) is to put this infrastructure on a sustainable basis for long-term use.
Although DGI-2 is not a development project but a consolidation project, some specific development measures are indispensable. With DGI-2 the AAI/VO project serves the overarching purpose of coordinating security activities in the D-Grid with a focus on sustainable protection and implementation of the respective centralized services. For this purpose, the different resource providers and users are defined suitable levels of security requirements in the D-Grid, which are implemented, and appropriate support is offered.
